This article is for disclosing companies and outlines the onboarding steps that users need to take before they can start responding to CDP’s new corporate questionnaire. The onboarding steps include confirming the Submission Lead, selecting the admin fee (if applicable), confirming participation (where applicable) and setting up the questionnaire. Once these steps are completed, users will be able to proceed to respond to their questionnaire.  
 
Important: We recommend that you follow the onboarding steps in the order outlined in this article below. You may complete the steps in another order, save and return later, however, for the most optimal experience, please refer to this article Please note, we are taking on board user feedback and are continuously working to improve the Portal and user experience.  
 
First, sign in to your CDP Portal. You will need to have registered an account and be added to your organization as a Discloser Contributor. For more information, please see our article on access here and user roles articles here. Once signed in, you will see the onboarding steps outlined in the blue ribbon at the top of the page.

Please note, whilst the Choose fee step appears first in the onboarding journey, we recommend that you proceed to the Confirm Lead step first, followed by Choose fee and other steps.  
 
There are several ways that a user can choose to become a Submission Lead – during the first steps of signing in, clicking on the Confirm Lead step in the blue ribbon or through the Invite Team Members page directly. The user will always be taken to the Invite Team members page.  

Please note, only the Submission Lead will be able to submit the final set up of the questionnaire and to select the fee. Therefore, this step needs to be completed before the questionnaire response can be started.   
The first time you sign in to your account, you will see the following pop up below.  
 
To become the Submission Lead, click on Review Permissions. If you wish to remain as a Discloser Contributor, click on Continue as a Contributor.

After clicking Review permissions button, you will be taken to the Invite Team members page. Please note, you can also navigate to the Invite Team members page from the navigation bar on the left or by clicking Confirm Lead in the blue ribbon. 
 
On the Team members page, navigate to Role and Visibility section, click on the drop-down menu and select Discloser Submission Lead. Click Save Updates.

About the Submission Lead role 
To become the Submission Lead you will need to accept the Terms and Conditions and will be able to submit the final response to the questionnaire for your organization.  
The Submission Lead role and permissions cannot be assigned to other users you have to choose to become the Submission Lead yourself and accept the Terms of disclosure at the same time. However, if there is more than one user for your organization, any Contributor can choose to become the Submission Lead at any time.


Please note, this step will assign your user permissions for the current disclosure cycle.Roles will be reset for the next year and a new Submission Lead will need to be selected.  

Once a user has confirmed  themselves as the  Submission Lead, they will be able to go on to choose the fee and complete the questionnaire set up.  

Note: Only the Submission Lead can submit the questionnaire set up and the questionnaire response. Any Contributor ca
n confirm participation and complete but not submit the questionnaire set up and the questionnaire response.
  
 
3. Choose fee
Once the Submission Lead has been confirmed, users can go on to select their fee (or select a zero fee if a fee is not applicable).  
Click on Choose fee in the blue onboarding ribbon and you will be presented with one, two or three payment options. If you are not eligible for a fee, you will see a zero fee tile. More information on our fees can be found on our admin fee FAQs here

Select your preferred fee and proceed to the payment steps or return to these later. You will be able to make the payment by card or invoice.  
 

Important: for Latin American countries, invoicing is regional. If your organization is in Brazil, please fill out this form with your organization's financial information. If your organization is in Latin America, except for Brazil, please fill out this form.


Note: You can begin  responding to the questionnaire prior to paying the fee. However, you will only able to submit the questionnaire once you have paid the fee. You will not be able to submit your questionnaire response without completing the payment.  
We recommend that you continue to the Confirm participation step next.
To confirm your participation, click on the Confirm Participation button in the blue onboarding ribbon or the Show organization details link on the homepage to go to the Organization details page.  
 
In the Confirm your participation section, select Yes or No. Click Save Changes.

Please note, whilst this step is optional, it will inform your Requester(s) of your intentions to disclose during this cycle.  

5: Set up your questionnaire 
Once you have completed the Submission Lead and Choose fee steps, you can begin to set up your questionnaire. To begin the questionnaire set up process, click Set up questionnaire from the top ribbon.

Or from your To do list click on the Complete your questionnaire setup link. 

Proceed to set up your questionnaire, which will include questions about your company’s annual revenue, CDP-ACS classification and assessment of environmental issues. More detailed guidance on this can be found here.
 
The overview page provides a summary of the steps involved in the questionnaire setup process. You'll be presented with a series of questions which vary depending on your answers. Click on Start questionnaire setup and proceed with the screen by screen steps.

Once complete, the blue onboarding ribbon will change to the questionnaire KPI banner. This will allow you to track your questionnaire completion progress as you work on it. On your homepage, you will see the progress for each question of the questionnaire.
 
At the end of the questionnaire setup process, your answers need to be submitted. Or data you have entered is still saved if you navigate back to the homepage before you complete the questionnaire setup process.  
 
Please note, Contributors can go through the questionnaire setup process, but only the Submission Lead may submit the set up and the final questionnaire response. Therefore, in order to complete the questionnaire setup and to begin disclosing via the questionnaire, one user from your organization will need to complete step 3 of becoming the Submission Lead.  

 
Re-submitting your questionnaire set up 
You may need to resubmit the questionnaire set up step for a number of reasons. For example, if you have been requested by additional Requesters following your questionnaire set up submission. 
Please note, resubmitting your questionnaire set up for whatever reason will not lead to data loss in your questionnaire response input so far, for further details and steps for re-submission, please see our article
here.

New/additional requests  
Following your questionnaire set up submission, you may receive new requests from your customers. You will see this under your questionnaire progress banner, e.g. You have 7 new requests, as seen in an example below.

In order to have the most up to date themes and list of Requestors in your questionnaire, you will need to click on Edit questionnaire set up below the questionnaire banner and resubmit it.  

Answers to questions you have answered will be prepopulated and you do not have to make any changes. Making changes to your questionnaire set up may impact the questions you see in your response, but your previous responses will not be lost.

Your organization’s revenue informs the questionnaire that you receive - revenue along with total employees determines whether you are eligible for the SME or the full integrated corporate Questionnaire. It is also one factor in determining whether you will be asked to disclose on water and/or forests questions. 

Please note, revenue data provided in the questionnaire set-up will not be shared with organizations who have requested you to disclose through CDP. It will be used for CDP data products in an anonymized format.

There is an opportunity to disclose revenue in the questionnaire in questions 1.4.1 in the Full Corporate Questionnaire and 14.4.1 in the SME questionnaire.


6. Begin responding
 
Once you have completed the questionnaire set up, you can now begin to respond to your questionnaire. All Contributors and the Submission Lead can respond to all questions, but only the Submission Lead will be able to submit your response. 

Please note, the Submit your questionnaire button will only become available from 27 August.
