How to add contacts in bulk using CSV import
If your Request list has not been submitted yet, we recommend adding contacts in bulk when uploading your Request list via the CSV import option by including contact email addresses for each company in your CSV file. You can use this option as many times as you want before your Request list has been submitted.
Steps:
- Navigate to your Request list via ‘Manage organizations’ on the left navigation panel in your Portal homepage, then click ‘Upload a file’ and download a template of your pending list from the pop-up that appears.
Tip: The template file downloaded is a CSV file. Most computers open these in Excel which shows the data separated into columns. Always use the CDP downloaded .csv template, not your own template. When opening the file, you will receive a prompt regarding Excel data conversions. Select ‘Don’t Convert’ to ensure that the file retains the leading zeros in any DUNS numbers.
- Open the template and add your data. Use Column D, titled ContactEmail. Your file needs to have the same columns as the template to avoid errors.
Do not add or remove any columns or change any column names.
Tip: you can bulk edit Columns E & F for Environmental Themes here too.
- Save the file as a .csv format once populated with contact email addresses. You may wish to share this with your Account Manager to check for issues.
- Import the file by navigating back to your Request list page and click ‘Upload file’. Drag and drop your CSV file or click ‘Upload’ to manually select it. Keep the page open as files can take up to 30 minutes to upload. The uploaded file will then be reviewed for duplicates, errors and other possible issues.
- If the upload is successful, you will receive an email to let you know that it’s finished and your updated Request list will appear with a red ‘Submit list ->’ option on the right-hand side.
- Your contacts will now be added.
- The contact will receive an automated email with a unique invitation link from mail@cdp.net. The contact will need to click on the link provided to create their CDP Portal account.
- Once done your contact will be able to login to the CDP Portal to respond to your request and start disclosing through CDP.

How to add an individual contact email to a Request in the Portal
The recommended option to grant Discloser contacts direct access to the CDP Portal and questionnaire as a Requester is to provide contact emails directly in the Portal when building your Request list.
Contact sharing with CDP enables us to engage more effectively with your requested organizations which can lead to improved performance and response rates.
Note: this option can be used both before and after submitting your Request list.
Steps:
- At the top of the Requester homepage, select ‘Show organization details’. In the ‘Organization details’ page, scroll to the ‘Sharing contact information’ terms. Here, you will need to read and confirm your compliance with data protection regulations and that you allow contact information to be shared with CDP. You must tick the GDPR compliance data privacy box. Once done, select ‘Save Changes’.
Important: This is a mandatory step to enable direct contact additions. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you would like more information about this confirmation.
- Once you have created your Request list, navigate to it via ‘Manage Organizations’ from the left navigation panel in your Portal homepage.
- Select the relevant Request list by clicking the ‘View’ option.
- Once in your Request list, select the specific organization you wish to add a contact to invite to the CDP Portal to start disclosing through CDP. You will have to select the arrow option on the right of the organization line.
Tip: you may use the search or filter function on the top right of your list to find specific organization names you wish to add contacts for.
- Proceed to add the contact email address to the organization in the first field under the General information section.
- Review the selected suppliers and ensure that the correct environmental issues are assigned.
- Click ‘Send’ to issue the disclosure requests.
- The contact will receive an automated email with a unique invitation link from mail@cdp.net to create their CDP Portal account. Once done your contact will be able to login to the CDP Portal to respond to your request and start disclosing through CDP.
How to use domain-based invitations via CSV file upload
If you are having issues with adding contacts directly in the Portal or were not able to accept the data privacy option as outlined above, domain-based invitations provide an alternative option. This method allows you to generate invitation links for each organization you are requesting by uploading a CSV file including email domains for each organization on your Request list.
Note: this option is separate to the CSV upload method used to add contacts in bulk to a Request list that has not been submitted yet. The domain-based invitations method is not a readily available option, but an exceptional functionality provided on a case-by-case basis, enabled by CDP. It is also only available to Supply Chain Requesters, once your Request list has been submitted.
Please reach out to your Account Manager for more information. We encourage you to use Option 1 to add contacts directly in the Portal as you upload your list to facilitate prompt access to the CDP Portal for your Disclosers.
Steps:
- Reach out to your Account Manager directly to request the activation of this option. Once approved, this will allow you to use this alternative option to generate domain-based invitations.
- Once you have built your Request list and confirmed with your Account Manager, they will send you your invitation template via email. Download this CSV file template.
- Fill the template with the email domains for each requested organization; this means all the information after the ‘@’ sign in your requested organizations’ email addresses. Do not include the ‘@’ symbol here.
- Once you have entered all the domains and completed the file, save your updated CSV file before proceeding to upload it. Navigate to ‘View Organization’ and select ‘Upload list of domains’.
- Once you have uploaded the CSV file, our system will process the file and generate a new CSV containing unique onboarding URLS for each domain. You will need to download this file with the invite links.
- You may proceed to invite your suppliers to disclose by distributing individual links for your supplier contacts. A common method to send each link to the correct organization is using a mail merge.
Note: The unique links are per organization. Each organization requested will have a unique link, that any contact within that organization with a matching domain can use to create their CDP Portal account.
- Contact(s) at each of your requested organizations can use their organization’s link to register individually and create an account with CDP. When each individual contact fills out the domain invite, this will generate an automated invitation link for them to complete their CDP Portal account creation.
- Finally, your Discloser contacts should have access to the CDP Portal to begin their organization’s disclosure through CDP.
Register to disclose (manual addition)
The final option for providing your requested organizations with access to the CDP Portal is via the Register to Disclose form. The Register to disclose form is a means for contacts to submit a direct request to CDP to request access to their organization’s CDP Portal account.
Note: The Register to disclose form will only be live once we launch our Discloser cycle in mid-June 2025. This is meant to serve as an exceptional route where contacts are verified manually, leading to longer wait times to receive their invitation link to access the CDP Portal. We encourage Requesters to use Options 1 or 2 to ensure a smoother disclosure journey for their suppliers.
Steps:
- Requesters can share the direct link to the Register to Disclose form from mid-June 2025 to all organizations they have requested to disclose, asking them to complete the form to request access to the CDP Portal.
Note: When sharing the Register to disclose form, to help contacts from the organizations requested to complete the form and be granted access to the correct CDP Portal account accurately, Requesters should clearly communicate the following information:
- The Requester full organization name as per CDP records i.e. Requester account name
- The purpose of registration the contact should select “My customer(s) and/or CDP Capital Market signatories have requested my organization to disclose through CDP.”
- The supplier organization name and DUNs Number as provided in their request list
- When completing the Register to disclose form, the contact will be required to first select their purpose for registration and should select the first option if requested by their customer.
- The contact will then be required to provide their Requester name and their organization details using the Organization search tool via looking up their organization name or 9-digit DUNs number as provided in the Requesters’ request list.
- Once a contact submits the Register to disclose form, CDP will work to process their request within 5 working days of the form submission, matching the details provided in the form to the relevant organization CDP Portal account. Where a direct match is found, CDP will trigger the invitation email to the contact.
- Once a contact receives the invitation link, they can click on it to create their Portal account, access their dashboard, and start their disclosure journey.
